When beginning this class, I had very little knowledge of what WordPress was and how it worked. I had a general idea that it was a tool used to build websites, but beyond that I had no clue. I had also known about Domain of One’s Own since my first semester of school, but never took advantage of it because I didn’t know what I would do with it
For my FSEM class, Leadership and Social Justice, we had to create a blog as well. I somehow found myself back on that site, and found out that it was also a WordPress blog, just with a different theme that I never took the care of changing. From that, I had a little bit of knowledge about how to create posts, but beyond that I was way out of my comfort zone. By asking my mom who has used WordPress for tips to exploring YouTube videos about the basics of the process, I was able to create the bones of what I wanted my site to look like. I found a playlist on Youtube that helped with the basics along with more specific questions.
Overall, this process was a learning curve. Having never done this before, it was all trial and error until I found what worked. I have enjoyed the process so far and have been learning as I go, changing things up in the process!
