About Me!

Hi friends! Welcome to The Great Berrier Reef! My name is Carson Berrier, hence “The Great BErrier Reef”!

I am a rising junior at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia (whoop whoop!) where I am a History major and in the College of Education. I’m planning on getting my M.Ed. in Secondary Education and hoping to teach middle school after that!

On campus, I am a Washington Guide and absolutely love showing visiting families and students the campus and town that I love! I will also be a Peer Mentor for a FSEM (first-year seminar class) in the fall of 2020 and am so pumped to be able to help first-year students transition into their college lives! I also serve on the executive board of a campus ministry.

Off campus, I am a Younglife leader at a local high school, where I get to hang out with kids and show them what life knowing Jesus can look like! (This is by far one of the coolest parts of my life!) During the summers, I spend the majority of my time in the sunshine and chlorine while I am a swim coach to crazy cool kids and friends.

I have a great passion for people and love connecting and growing with others! In my free time, you can usually find me on a coffee date with a friend, catching up and trying not to remember the schoolwork left to do for the day!

One of my biggest passions is traveling, and even after getting back from a trip, I am itching to plan my next one! Some of my favorite places have been Florence, Italy, Iceland, and Engelberg, Switzerland.

Taking a morning run, drinking too much sweet tea, and reading a new book is my kinda perfect day!

This page was originally created for a class about digital storytelling, but I hope this website becomes a place for much more than that. I can’t wait to see what this grows into!
